2 months to go

We have been canvassing for the DSLR we plan to purchase this coming Christmas. We even asked my FIL and other friends who are abroad to check the prices. Last night, hubby and I were informed of the price and talked it over. Honestly, I suddenly felt that’s too much money to burn for a camera purchase. We could buy a new home theater set-up with that amount. Hubby scratched his head and teased me how fickle-minded I am. Yes, I do love pictures, but the plan is, we buy things we want with our extras only. So I guess, if we can save enough with our extra till December, we can continue with the purchase. Geez, I almost purchased another camera from Ebay just the other day. Good thing, I didn’t.

Rainy Wednesday

It was raining hard since morning. I was having second thoughts leaving the house for work. I could work from home so why leave? This was the question that was running through my mind. But then, we have a scheduled meeting tonight. What to do? What to do?

As always, laziness took over.

Then, I received a message saying, all will be working from home today due to the heavy rains, and that the meeting will be moved to another date. Woohoo! Buti na lang tinamad ako. Kundi sayang ang effort.

little things matter

Was it just me who noticed that the lady model of Judge chewing gum has dirty fingernails? I was watching TV while searching for a competent truck accident lawyer when I saw the said ad.

It was a close-up shot of the fingers while holding the gum, twice! How could the quality assurance (editor or whoever is in-charge before releasing it to the public) miss this one obvious detail? Yes the model was very pretty but the fingernails? Not so enticing really.

concert tickets or out-of-town trips?

Last weekend, we went to a food bazaar at a nearby college. Together with hubby and friends, checked each stall and ended up eating rice-in-a-box, fishballs, kikiam, and barbeque. We were listening to the alumni having a concert. We stayed even longer, waited for Side A’s turn to have their concert.

I realized it has been a long time since I’ve gone to concerts like this one. I remember going to concerts like that of Side A, Freestyle, Boys II Men and Brian McKnight. Of course, it’s different now. I’d rather go out of town with Mikee and hubby than spend on concert tickets.

Speaking of out-of-town trips, I better start browsing for affordable Outer Banks rentals. Hubby and I are now planning for our next out-of-town family trip, probably after the Christmas season. Only then, I can compute for our extra. ;)

still remember nino?

My hubby received comments that he looks like the former child star Nino Muhlach even in his younger years. I, myself, think that he does sometimes.

Although, I often tease him to take some DNA testing, he’s not really a look-alike but yes, they have facial similarities. And who knows? He could be a cousin of the famous Aga Muhlach. He then can join showbiz. Then I could be chummy chums with Charlene Gonzales. Hahaha. Kidding.

being choosy

Do I choose my friends? Let’s see. Of course, for me, for a friendship to work out, there should be a common hobby or interest.

Hmm, I am easily turned off by people who:

  • think the world revolves around them.
  • treat everybody else as a competition.
  • love to sit on their pity pot all the time.
  • are nasty to old people, babies, pregnant women or poor people.
  • so insecure that you can feel/see they’re fighting it but still, it shows.
  • are needy and clingy.

Well, yeah, I guess, I choose my friends.

Your Friendliness Score is 62 (Friendly)

No doubt about it, you are a good friend and a friend to many.
You’re one of the first people your friends call when they have news.

You are quite popular, and your circle of friends is always growing.
And while you are always making new friends, you are careful not to leave your old friends behind.

While you are a great friend, you’re not perfect. Sometimes you slip a little.
Make sure to listen to your friends and make time for them. Occasionally they feel a little neglected.

girly fun

If you have been reading this blog, you’ll notice how I love Coach bags. I guess those are the bags that I can afford (read: on rare splurges) and styles of which fit my lifestyle. I don’t buy bags more expensive than the Coach price range. I tend NOT to use expensive things that I own (given to me as a gift, in short, kuripot ako) worrying I might damage it. So I only buy things that I won’t mind getting damaged provided I’ve used it often enough.

Anyway, earlier today, Peachy sent me a Coach Patchwork bag. No, not the real one. But to my Facebook account. In turn, I sent Coach Hamptons bags to several friends.

Fun!

I was about to go to the office. Then I thought of taking a picture. Why? Why not! Hehehe.

Now who looks 30-ish now? :P

using your DSLR to make HD movies

Hubby and I have agreed we could buy a new DSLR this December. So I was browsing for pictures of the model that we want. I wanted to know the appropriate prime lens so I texted my sister’s fiancee. He then replied with “Have you seen the new Nikon D90?” And so I googled and find out that you can make movies out of the D90, HD! WOW!!! Ultimate!

In simple English for everyone else, unlike camcorders, you can throw backgrounds way out of focus for movies shot on the D90.” - Ken Rockwell.

Definitely my kind of camera! I checked its price and showed hubby. He then teasingly sang “Pangarap ka na lang ba?” (Will you be just a dream?)

Ok, settled then. No D90 for us.
