20/20 vision no more?

So much work to do. I need to finish all these before we leave the house for Mikee’s class. I won’t be bringing the laptop to the parties. It would defy my purpose, to have fun that is. Lately, I have been having migraines. I’m not sure if it’s prolonged exposure to my laptop or if I need to have my eyes checked. I was planning to buy an Oakley to have it reimbursed for our optical benefits but it looks like I’ll be buying prescription contact lenses instead. Tsk, tsk. I wonder if I can opt to buy it in brown or green. Hihihi.

be careful when riding taxi cabs

An officemate forwarded an email cautioning about a taxi modus operandi happening in EDSA. I actually have read about a similar incident before. Both women says the taxi driver asked the passenger to move a bit to one side because the tire on the other side was almost flat. And the taxi was running too slow. Then two waiting men will suddenly ride the taxi cab to do a hold-up, driving to several ATMs till they get all the money they could. One woman said it happened to her on a late night while the other said it happened to her at noon!

I was so alarmed because as you know, I ride taxi when I go to the office. (I either take the MRT to go home or hubby fetches me.) So I’m thinking what I should do if the taxi driver starts telling me to move a bit to one side. Should I just ask him to stop at a place with enough outdoor lighting and drop off from there? But the question is, would he stop? It was said that the doors are child-locked. Well, in that case, the best thing to do is upon riding a cab, test the doors first if you can open it from inside. If not, I’ll probably pretend to have forgotten something.

Take precaution. This could be rampant nowadays especially it’s just two months before Christmastime.

trick or treat on family day

Hubby’s department will be having a family day at the Enchanted Kingdom on October 25th. I was happy when I learned about it. Then while browsing for good moving companies, I suddenly remember that Mikee will have a Halloween treat at their school on the same day. Mikee can’t miss that. I know it would be fun. And I have bought a nice costume for her. I wonder if hubby would be ok with the idea of going to the theme park late in the afternoon after Mikee’s class. Well, let’s see.

size 6 wannabe

Last night, hubby’s aunt who lives in Europe called (via YM). We showed Mikee’s latest pictures and she can hear Mikee being so talkative. Auntie, in return, showed us her latest purchases: Mikee’s blouses, skirts, dresses and toys (did you notice the “s” at the end of each word? Hihihi). She asked me what my size is, I said 6. She said that she thought I am size 8 and that size 6 falls in the kid’s category.

After the chat, I scoured my cabinet to check what my European size is. Golly, they are size 8! One skirt was even size 10!!! Oh my, I better chat with Auntie soon before she buys. Hmm, on a second thought, I could just buy fat burners to fit in size 6 clothes. Not a bad idea huh? :D

multitasking today

Yes, I am so BUSY today with a capital B… With work, of course. I need to finish all these soon because we are in tight schedule plus I am on leave next Monday. This is so that I can rest after two days of partying (Twitter EB and MBAP party, no, it won’t be hard partying but since these are family-oriented parties, I’m pretty sure I’d be dead tired). Hubby works from home on Mondays so he can rest too.

Anyway, Mikee has runny nose. So I kept giving her water. She loves drinking Del Monte Fit ‘n Right Four Seasons but since this has L-Carnitine this is really NOT recommended for toddlers. So what I did was, buy Del Monte Four Seasons in cans (without the L-Carnitine, just the simple fibrous juice) and pour its contents to a Fit ‘n Right bottle and add some water. Viola! Mikee loves drinking her juice!

Mommy tricks. :P

what a small world

Two weekends ago, we went to the mall with Mikee’s yaya. We had pizza for lunch. Since Mikee loves french fries and the pizza place has no fries on their menu, we asked yaya to buy fries from Mcdonald’s one floor below. When she came back, she was a bit sad. I asked her if her tooth was starting to ache again. She said no. Then she told us that she just saw her estranged husband at Mcdonald’s, who didn’t know she’s in the city. Small world huh?

Yesterday, during my SIL’s birthday party, one of my hubby’s cousins and I had a chat. We talked about his newest fashion achievement. He qualified to design one of the gowns that the Ms. Earth contestants will be wearing for a calendar shoot. Then he started asking about how much did my wedding gown cost. Then I don’t know how and why, we started talking about Chinese people. Then I blurted out that the gowns of my sister’s entourage are being handled by a Chinese young guy, who graduated from… then he finished my sentence with “CSB?” Guess what? This Chinese guy who will be doing Mikee’s flowergirl gown is a **close friend** of hubby’s cousin. Now, talking about how small the world is. ;)

in between weeks

This week I:
- was busy… ( a. working b. window-shopping c. taking care of Mikee d. all of the above)
- scrapped after 10 thousand years.
- tried shopping for gifts for the parties. *tried*
- lost the three little elves over the other side of the fence.

Next week, I plan to:
- buy the gifts for the parties
- finish the pending non-project-related work

Happy weekend!

where are the wii’s?

Hubby and I are contemplating on getting the Nintendo Wii. Contemplating meaning we *might* want to buy but we are never really too eager to talk and compute if we can. But I started checking online for its price. Oh yeah, I now know the price but it looks like that the problem is more of the availability rather than its price.

I wonder why would Nintendo not produce more Wii when the demand is so high? Or are the wii’s being held up somewhere, a strategy as to pump up the price?

Tsk, tsk.

connect the dots

Hubby asked me why my blogs are broken. I raised an eyebrow saying “huh?” then he showed me and yes, all 3 blogs are broken (I’m using the same theme for my 3 blogs). I realized that it’s because I’m using IE7 and FF that I didn’t see this. Hubby is using IE6.

Geez, I hope I can find time to have this fixed soon. Hopefully this weekend. ;)
