Shabu-Shabu + Grill

Two weeks ago, hubby started craving for Tong Yang Hot Pot. But we decided we can just go on the following weekend. We totally forgot about it, so while browsing for trucking gps systems, we were surprise that our friends came to our place inviting us to the shabu-shabu place. They remembered. :)

We went to its Quezon Avenue branch. It was 5 years ago when we last visited the place. And I’m surprised that the place still looked, well, the same. To be honest, I dreaded going back because I knew I’d smell like food after (and we planned on catching a movie later that night).

But anyway, we still went ahead. And boy was I happy we did. The different sea foods and the egg sauce? My fave! Eat (and drink) all you can, at that! We went there Saturday dinner so it was P585 per head.

And then, they brought in the crabs.

Burp!

choosing our giveaways.

As early as now, I’ve been busy looking for ideas for invitations and giveaways for our son’s Baptismal party in September. I saw several DIY projects that I can do while on maternity leave. I’m leaning towards one project with matching invites and giveaway box simply because I can customize them using one digiscrap kit and use the same kit for the photobook that we’ll use as a guestbook. I haven’t decided on what to put inside the giveaway box though. I wonder if a cupcake would fit inside one.

As for the sponsors, I’m thinking of giving them gift baskets. I especially like wine gifts like the one I saw from RedEnvelope. They have a variety of gift baskets that one can choose from. Knowing our friends (who will be the sponsors), they’ll love it. All these I still need to “present” to the husband for approval. I’m sure he’ll be likely to approve. Why, he might even want one for himself.

watching my diet… not!

A friend tagged me on one of her Facebook photos. But instead of people on the photo, it was a photo of a mouth-watering cheeseburger. Yeah, she’s a tease. Hahaha. I told her that my OB says I’m now overweight, and therefore should watch my diet. I am also now on my 5th month so I should watch my salt intake if I don’t want to look so bloated.

I promised myself that within two years after giving birth, I will be back to my ideal weight. I will search for diet pills that really work, go back to dancing or jogging as a form of exercise, and stick to just 3 meals a day. Why two years? Because I don’t want to be too hard on myself.

Yeah, right.

with green tea extract

I may not admit it but I think the reason I kept gaining weight even with so little food intake is my slow metabolism, slower than it used to be, that is. A friend suggested conjugated linoleic acid that she said helps in increasing metabolic rate. Although she’s not sure how true it is that it decreases abdominal fat.

That, or should I blame Gilbey’s Premium Strength? It just tastes so good, and perfect for Saturday evenings with the husband and/or friends.

my own salad, perhaps?

I knew it! It was quite expected. I grew tired of eating KFC chicken salad with Asian sauce. Who wouldn’t when I eat the same thing for a couple of weeks now?

I’m thinking, well, I can do my own version of chicken salad. I’ll buy tomatoes, probably the best skin care food, to add to my lettuce. I’d like some orange slices and grapes, as well. For the chicken, I’d either put nuggets or crab sticks. I’ll skip the sauce.

Hmm, not bad. I’ll try it next weekend. :D

too tempting

Early afternoon I received an email informing all employees that for the month of March, our company is the employer of the month, and that we can avail of the 10% discount from Yo-Swirls. This is the nearest yogurt store in our office. My favorite is their original flavor (I love its subtle sour taste) with cranberries. I haven’t tried to add almonds yet in Yo-Swirls. You see, almond is my favorite topping over at Red Mango.

Anyway, it’s been a while since I last ate yogurt. With my current weight, I should be considering taking ephedra diet pills instead. But the ongoing promo is very tempting.

Oh, but that last time I checked, I have shed another 2 pounds. :D

food in Disneyland

When we’re inside Disneyland, we had two choices of food.
The one-can-never-go-wrong and affordable burger and fries sort of meal.

Or the fun looking but a little more expensive food served in the restaurants.

Photo taken by my sister. I was just so hungry I ate before realizing I should have taken a picture first. (Same reason I hardly post photos of food. I am almost always too hungry to do that.) Can you see the not so hidden Mickey?

At least the more expensive one does not give you any guilt but instead gives you enough excuse to miss running on your ellipticals. Just kidding. The salad (or soup) actually comes with a main course, by the way. ;)

eat, eat and eat

This may sound too shallow but I really want to lose weight as soon as possible. But I’d probably need an appetite suppressant as I’ve been craving for burgers and pizza lately more than ever. Like last night, we had a meeting with the in-laws to finalize our itinerary for our Hong Kong trip less than 10 days from now.

We ordered pizza, buffalo wings and potato halves. YUM!!! And after eating, the meeting ended and we all went to bed. Tsk tsk. Talk about unburned calories Yikes!

Adarna review and family bonding

Sunday night, we had dinner with my parents and siblings at Adarna Food and Culture located along Kalayaan Avenue in Quezon City.

Great: Ambience is very good. It’s like eating at your grandmother’s house in the province, very cozy just like home. I also liked the furniture and decors. I’d say it is a very interesting place for photography enthusiasts.

Good: I liked their rellenong bangus paired with pickled ampalaya. Felicidad was good too according to my siblings who tried it.

Bad: I don’t know if it’s just Sunday but I felt that they were short-staffed. I had to follow up on our iced teas twice. And maybe I was full from a previous party that I didn’t like their seafood special.

Can you guess what this is?

Anyway, my dad shared his Cagayan de Oro (versus his Davao) escapades while my mom shared that my aunt was bugging her, asking if I know any used rv for sale. Also, it was a good decision I didn’t wear my skirt which was the same with the skirt that I gave my sister because she’s wearing it tonight. My brother has a new tattoo with “arkitekto” on it. While the other brother reminded me of their band’s pictorial.

I thought I took many pictures but when I got home I realized I took less than twenty shots. And not any one of them included me or my husband.

one of the things I will miss

Today is our last day in our office. Tomorrow, we will start using the new office somewhere in McKinley Hills. (So can we be called as the girls from the hills? Hehehe)

So today, we are committed on buying our favorite, Red Mango at Megamall. We won’t have this easy on the new office. I wonder if they have that on Serendra, huh?

Hmm, but if this is really yogurt, why do I feel guilty after each cup? :p
