I like what ProFlowers does on Facebook. I like seeing it on my feeds, reminding people to stay sweet, and that girls simply love flowers.

I used to think that I am not a flower person. That unlike other girls, I used to think that sending me flowers is just predictable. But I was proven wrong when the husband sent me flowers on simple days, it melt my heart. So yes, he didn’t send me flowers on my birthday or anniversary (uhm ok, he did once) because he knew I find it predictable, but he found a way for me to realize that I, too, love flowers by sending them when I least expect it.

Before we even knew that our baby is a boy, I started liking these two names in my mind. They’re Spanish and would go nicely with our family name. But husband insists it’s his turn to name the baby. For some reason, he thinks I was the one who decided on our daughter’s name. All I can remember is he suggested a second name which I didn’t like and he let me decide on the second name. But the first name, it was never questioned. But for both names of our daughter, the story behind has something to do with husband.

Honestly, it’s no issue for me that he wants to name his baby boy. I don’t care whose turn it is technically. My issue is he wants to name him after the wrestler, Shawn Michaels, commonly known as Heart Break Kid (HBK). Well, he says he likes the name Shawn, that’s it. It just so happen that there’s a wrestler named as Shawn Michaels. I think he was making fun of me. And he wants his friends to have a good time so he kept saying that he wants those names over some bottles of beer. I don’t want to insist on the two names I like as I thought he’s not serious. He still has more than 3 months to think about it, before I give birth.

Anyway, two weeks ago, I had my ultrasound, and my EDD changed again. I wanted to compare dates from my daughter’s ultrasound results so I checked my files. Then I stumbled on my daughter’s baby book which I started filling in when I was pregnant with her (way back in 2006). There’s this page about the names we’d want for our baby if it’s a girl or if it’s a boy. And to my horror, I saw this!

You see, I just asked the husband when I filled this page so the spelling was wrong. All along, the husband liked those two names.

I cry on sappy movies and even sappy TV commercials. But once I was faced with a heartbreaking experience and I just froze with so much hurt but no single tear. That’s me alright. I cannot explain it myself either. I get excited at the slightest idea but can be seemingly indifferent on events people would normally rejoice about.

So when the husband gives me flowers, I wouldn’t care much if he got them using ProFlowers coupon codes, as long as he got thoughtful enough to remember me, I’m happy. The best part is, most of the instances that he gave me flowers? There was no occasion whatsoever. He just thought he’d get me.

In fact, I think I was happier when he gives me flowers than when he gave me a watch. Ooops, wait, only because the flowers were given at no occasion and the watch was given to me on my birthday, which I sort of expected. So yes, it’s the element of surprise.

Just last week while the husband is on leave, I borrowed his Samsonite backpack. Surprisingly, my laptop fits in! What I am using temporarily is his other backpack that is too big and dwarfs me. Hmm, the question now is how to convince him to exchange backpacks with me. Either he agrees or he buys me Red Vanilla.

He said that if that happens, he will book for Orlando vacations next year to make it up for me and our daughter. Nah! I still prefer that he comes with us this October. Although a business trip in October is way better than him not around in December for Christmas. Hmmm… Let me rephrase that. I just hope and pray that it will NOT be in October or December.

Yesterday, hubby and I were both ready to go to the wedding an hour earlier before the car coding scheme was to be lifted. When it was time to leave, the car wouldn’t start. It turned out that it was time to buy a new car battery. The van was there the battery of which, we could use to charge ours. The problem was the “series” to connect them was with my in-laws who were still out.

An hour later, they arrived. To make the long story short, we were able to leave the house. But when we arrived at EDSA Shangrila hotel, we asked where the Rizal ballroom is. Guess what? That ballroom is located at the Makati Shangrila hotel!!!

Expectedly, hubby was blaming me for not double-checking the invites. I have this habit of selective reading and listening. Hubby didn’t want to go to the wedding anymore, not only because we were already late but he was also worried that the car might not start again when it’s time to go home.

So hubby decided we just go out on a dinner date at Chili’s. Well, the night turned out fine, I guess.

Hubby and I have agreed we could buy a new DSLR this December. So I was browsing for pictures of the model that we want. I wanted to know the appropriate prime lens so I texted my sister’s fiancee. He then replied with “Have you seen the new Nikon D90?” And so I googled and find out that you can make movies out of the D90, HD! WOW!!! Ultimate!

“In simple English for everyone else, unlike camcorders, you can throw backgrounds way out of focus for movies shot on the D90.” - Ken Rockwell.

Definitely my kind of camera! I checked its price and showed hubby. He then teasingly sang “Pangarap ka na lang ba?” (Will you be just a dream?)

Ok, settled then. No D90 for us.

Hubby’s birthday is fast approaching. I’m still thinking of a nice gift for him. If only we both have the luxury of time, I’ll opt to have a week-long vacation with him. A romantic getaway with the husband. But since we are both busy, I might just spend the day with him, give him a nice massage while wearing a nice Shirley of Hollywood lingerie. Hahaha. Don’t underestimate the power of a lingerie.

But seriously, we might have another get-together dinner at home. And knowing hubby, he’d be happy to have his relatives (especially his cousins) and friends to come over and get drunk! So now, my problem again, like with the other parties at home, is what to include in the menu. Oh well, I still have 4 weeks to think about it.
